Title: Where Are They Now: Raptors 905 ‘Affiliate Night’ a cause to look back at G League franchise’s impact

Synopsis: In my latest for The Athletic, I wrote about Raptors 905 ‘Affiliate Night’ and looked back at where every Raptors 905 player has wound up.
Even on a night meant to highlight Lorenzo Brown’s G League MVP season, his Toronto Raptors teammates were not letting him have it. On Friday night, Raptors 905 hosted the Long Island Nets for “Affiliate Night,” designed to highlight the connection between NBA club and G League squad. As part of the festivities, the first 1,000 fans to enter Paramount Fine Foods Centre received a Brown T-shirt.
Pascal Siakam took issue. A year before Brown was named MVP, Siakam was named finals MVP, bringing home a championship ring where last year’s 905 team only made it back to the finals. His point: Playoff success should be rewarded more than regular-season success, so where is Pascal Siakam night?
“First of all, I’m a D-League player, I’m not a G League player,” Siakam said, noting the league’s name change in 2017. “I don’t know if this question is for me, man. We’re talking about the G League. But today they told me it’s Lorenzo night. They said finals MVP don’t matter, you gotta be MVP MVP. I don’t know.”
