Synopsis: In my latest for The Athletic Toronto, I wrote about Landry Fields’ difficult tenure as a Raptor, caused in large part by an injury that remains a mystery to this day.

Landry Fields still doesn’t know exactly what happened with his right wrist. Or his elbow. Or his hand. No one seems quite sure.

To this day, the presumed nerve issue that cost him his jump shot and, ultimately, his NBA career persists. When he finds himself missing the court the most, he’ll go and put up some shots, hoping that maybe one day the issue will resolve itself.

“(The nerve issue is) still happening, so I guess that comeback will have to wait until I’m 40,” Fields joked.
