Synopsis: In my latest for The Athletic Toronto, I looked at what a slight uptick in salary cap projections means for the Raptors, as well as the fall-out from re-signing Fred VanVleet.
Ahead of last night’s start of free agency, the NBA released a memo to teams updating them on the salary cap and luxury tax lines for the 2018-19 season. Within was a modicum of good news for the Toronto Raptors, who could use every bit of breathing room a higher cap will afford them as they face a tight cap sheet and likely tax bill for the year to come. What follows are some brief notes on what a slightly higher cap projection might mean for the Raptors this summer and moving forward.

Fred VanVleet re-signs
