Title: Murphy Mailbag: Lowry’s importance, trade scenarios, chicken wings, and more
Date: December 18, 2018

Synopsis: In my latest for The Athletic, I answered some questions about Kyle Lowry’s importance, Raptors’ trade options, chicken wings, and more.
The Toronto Raptors have played the most compressed schedule in the NBA so far this season. This is not an excuse for them — not that they would need one at a league-best 23-9 despite multiple short-term injuries — so much as it is for me. Normally, I like to answer reader questions/do mailbags more regularly than I have so far this year. Those mailbags usually come when the team has dual days off, though, as they take a bit to put together. Since the Raptors haven’t had much in the way of time off, we haven’t had much in the way of time to chat.
Today we get to rectify that with a shorter (by our standards, you and I) mailbag. And we’re wasting no time getting right into the most important questions.
Where is Kawhi getting his wings in Toronto? Has he chosen a go-to spot or is he still shopping around? – MC Billy Shakes
The background here: Kawhi Leonard is apparently a big fan of the U.S. wing chain Wing Stop. If the Raptors want to retain Leonard beyond this year, it follows that he’ll need to be reasonably assured the city of Toronto can measure up to his go-to spot back home in California. When Leonard was first acquired, I offered my services to take him on a wing tour of the city and, more specifically, to take him to the best wing joint, both in terms of wing quality and value. So far, my offers have been rebuffed.
