Title: Cavaliers matchup isn’t what it once was to Raptors, but it was just what they needed
Date: December 16, 2019

Synopsis: In my latest for The Athletic Toronto, I wrote about the Raptors getting things back on track against the Cavaliers.
It was a sign of arrival. A message to the NBA at large. A declaration of intent.
With the Cleveland Cavaliers visiting, the Toronto Raptors were at their very best. Every possession was fought as if this were a playoff game because to the Raptors it might as well have been. Kyle Lowry turned in one of the best nights of his career, scoring 43 points, including a game-winner with four seconds left on the clock that brought the Toronto crowd to previously unheard of levels for a night in the dead of winter.
It was February of 2016, and the game meant everything to the Raptors.
