Welcome to another edition of Raptors Reasonablists with Eric Koreen and Blake Murphy. Throughout the year, Raptors staff writers Koreen and Murphy discuss hot-button issues surrounding the team, but with an even-keeled approach in pursuit of finding a reasonable middle ground.
If we have faith in anything, it is that reasonable middle grounds lead to: a) workable long-term solutions; b) increased empathy and understanding for others; and c) more wins — at least more wins when they truly matter, probably. We hold these truths to be self-evident, and we hold these truths to be good truths.
KOREEN: I feel like we need a disclaimer at the top of this one because everybody is understandably sensitive in these times. Yes, we would like to see the NBA come back and complete the 2019-20 season, but only if it can be done in a safe, responsible manner. We are all starved for our favourite sports right now, but they are ultimately unimportant compared to real-world consequences. Pro sports are indeed a luxury for society, and they should not come before the health and welfare of the bulk of humanity.
