Synopsis: In my latest for The Athletic Toronto, I broke down the Raptors’ season series with the Heat and what can be taken from that series for the playoffs.
Every game between the Toronto Raptors and Miami Heat tends to feel like a playoff game.
The two well-coached teams often play each other close and the level of physicality is high enough that Raptors fans have come to cringe when they see the Heat on the schedule late in the season. While all players escaped Toronto’s 107-103 reseeding victory Monday unscathed, there was still a playoff-level intensity and some playoff-relevant takeaways in the event these two teams meet up again in a few weeks.
“I think every game’s been like that,” Pascal Siakam said. “Obviously, the scrimmage games, you don’t play the whole time. And now just having that opportunity to play, I think all the games are physical, and we just get out there.”
