There are a lot of ways you can make yourself feel better about the predictions you made.
That’s especially true for an exercise like our preseason “bold” predictions for the 2019-20 Toronto Raptors season. After all, the entire point was to be bold, and that’s going to lead to a lower success rate. You can also talk yourself into things like process over results.
“Hey, I got this wrong, but the thinking behind the pick was prescient.” And the fact that the season was paused for over four months because of a global pandemic gives you some cover.
But if you want to claim the ones you got right, you have to own what you got wrong. And so it is with a heavy heart and a single missed Matt Thomas 3-pointer, that we look back at the 15 bold predictions we made back in October for the Raptors season.
