Date: July 10, 2021

Synopsis: In my latest for The Athletic Toronto, I took a look at seven Canadians who could be on the radar for teams in the 2021 NBA Draft.
The streak is over.
For 10 consecutive drafts, a Canadian has heard their name called. From Andy Rautins in the second round of the 2010 draft through a record six Canadians picked in 2019, there were 24 chances to bust out your “Canadians in the NBA” tally sheet. The 2020 draft was a lighter one for Canadian talent, with Nate Darling and Karim Mane topping the class by earning two-way deals as undrafted free agents.
This was in part due to a few notable names returning to school. Andrew Nembhard transferred from Florida to Gonzaga, while A.J. Lawson and Marcus Carr returned to school. That was the right call for Nembhard, who won a national championship, and for Lawson, who enters the 2021 draft process a more well-rounded player. Carr, meanwhile, is once again looking to transfer.
