Synopsis: In my latest for The Athletic Toronto, I broke down all of the minutiae of the Raptors’ deadline deals and where their cap sheet now stands before the buyout market.

In​ the last 48 hours,​ the​ Raptors have traded five​ players and three draft​​ picks for a bit of cash and a former Defensive Player of the Year. It’s been a really exciting couple of days and there are more moves to come, a certainty because the Raptors roster is currently about as fake-deep as my Instagram captions.

Later today, we’ll turn our attention to the options to fill out the roster. Before we do that, we need to tie up some loose ends from the trade deadline, explaining a few wrinkles in and answering a few questions about the trades that occured. What follows is a look at the why and how of the moves, as well as an update of the Raptors’ cap sheet and current luxury tax situation.
