Synopsis: In my latest for The Athletic Toronto, I did my annual index of the Raptors likeliest to stay or leave with the help of some friends.
How to sort through a very noisy season, in terms of narrative and data, might be the biggest challenge for the Raptors front office this offseason.
Scratch that. Figuring out if Masai Ujiri is a part of that front office is the biggest challenge. From there, whether Kyle Lowry remains the heartbeat of the franchise is a pretty high priority.
A lot of smaller, yet still difficult, decisions flow from there. Some players will move on to new opportunities, of their own volition or not. Upgrades will be hunted, and new player development projects will replace the current ones. Knowing what this team will look like at the start of 2021-22 requires some real thought and the help of some friends.
So here we are, with the annual He Stay Index That Can No Longer Be Named He Stay.
